Colourful flags are a great way to give a sense of occasion to an event and add joy to the streetscape and public realm.
At Applefest we have decided to make large bright colourful bespoke flags that will displayed on the streets of Clonmel and in other public area to celebrate the coming of Applefest and the Harvest season.
Our Feast of flags project aims to bring together people with an interest in sewing and design who want to help enhance the public realm, while also learning tangible design and sewing skills.
We will have a sewing mistress involved throughout to ensure that the flags are sound and solid and can be used for many years to come.
And we will tap into the creativity of the community by eliciting key individual images and combining them with geometric designs to celebrate the special place that is Clonmel.
There will be approximately two blocks of 6 weeks from early May to mid June and from July to end of August.
